Delete Your GolfGames Account
Effective date: May 15, 2026
You can permanently delete your GolfGames account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to request deletion, what gets removed, what we have to keep, and how long the process takes.
How to request deletion
- From the email address on your GolfGames account, email support@golfgames.gg with the subject line Delete my account.
- Include the display name on your account so we can locate it quickly. You do not need to send your password.
- We'll confirm the request by replying to the same email address within 3 business days.
- Your account and the data listed below will be permanently deleted within 30 days of confirmation.
If you can no longer access the email on your account, write to us from the address you have access to and explain the situation — we'll help you verify ownership another way.
What gets deleted
- Your profile (display name, username, avatar URL, GHIN association)
- Every round, hole score, and statistic tied to your account
- Your friend connections and friend requests, in both directions
- Activity feed entries you created
- Live ("active") rounds you've published
- Push notification tokens registered to your account
- Authentication credentials (email + password hash, or OAuth links to Apple / Google)
- Subscription entitlement records in RevenueCat tied to your account ID
What we may keep, and why
- Support correspondence — up to 2 years after the conversation ends, so we have a record of what was discussed. We can delete this on request after the 2-year window.
- Crash logs — up to 90 days. These are auto-redacted and not tied to identifying information after your account is deleted.
- Encrypted database backups — for up to 30 days after deletion, as part of our routine backup rotation. Backups are not actively queried; if a backup is ever restored, deleted-user data is purged again as part of the restore process.
- Anonymous, aggregated statistics — for example, "number of rounds played in May 2026" — which can't be tied back to you.
- Financial / tax records — if you had a paid subscription, Apple and Google retain their own records of the transaction independently of us, and we keep the corresponding receipts for as long as applicable tax law requires.
About your subscription
If you have an active GolfGames Pro subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel it. To avoid further charges, cancel your subscription in the App Store or Google Play before requesting deletion:
- iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → GolfGames → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Google Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → GolfGames → Cancel subscription
Deleting some of your data without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove specific data. In the app, you can:
- Delete individual rounds from Rounds → swipe on a round → Delete
- Remove friends from Friends → tap a friend → Remove friend
- Clear your avatar from Profile → Edit Profile → Remove photo
- Disconnect your GHIN association from Settings → GHIN Account
- Turn off push notifications from Settings → Notifications or your device's system settings
